Zizi Sabra is a Professor of clinical Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Fayoum University, she obtained an excellent bachelor's degree from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University in 1990, she obtained a diploma in applied psychology from the Department of Psychology, Cairo University in 1991. She obtained a master's degree from Minia University in the subject "The effectiveness of bio-feedback training and its relationship to some personality traits" in 1996, she obtained a doctorate degree with first honors in the subject "Efficiency of a Cognitive-behavioral treatment program on a sample of depressed patients” in 2004. She holds a license as a psychotherapist from the Egyptian Ministry of Health in 2007 and holds a classification as a Consultant in Clinical Psychology from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties between years 2011-2014, practicing cognitive behavioral therapy since 1997, and received training in cognitive behavioral therapy for two and a half years at the "Center for Cognitive Therapy for Depression" at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Under the supervision of Professor Robert DeRubies between 2000 and 2002. She is a certified trainer in cognitive behavioral therapy in many bodies, including the Egyptian Psychologists Association (RANM), the Psychological Research Center at Cairo University, and the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment. She published a book on cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression: theoretical foundations and practical applications in 2006, participated in the translation of a number of books. She is the manager of the Psychological Support Unit at Fayoum University since 2023 until now (January 22, 2025). Her interest is to assist psychologists in learning and practicing CBT in a standard scientific manner and to establish rules for training therapists seeking a license to practice in Egypt.
