The Applied Professional Master's in Clinical Psychology

UHA University – Faculty of Humanities – Department of Psychology offers the Professional Applied Master’s Program in Clinical Psychology, which is specifically designed to prepare specialists in psychotherapy according to the highest academic and professional standards, by combining theoretical education and intensive practical training under the supervision of a select group of psychological specialists and experts.

Program Details:

Duration: Four academic semesters over 14 months.
Study System: Combines theoretical academic education and applied practical training.
Fees: $300 per semester (total of $1200 for the program, plus $100 for the supervisory committee meeting and thesis defense).
Learning System: Online study with practical application and professional supervision.
Language of Instruction: Arabic with scientific terminology in English.
Supervision and Training: Academic professors and psychotherapy experts with professional experience in major therapeutic institutions.

Admission Requirements:

A graduate in Psychology, Psychological Counseling, or any related specialization in psychology and mental health.

Program Credit Hours:

-60 credit hours over 14 months
-Number of courses: 19 courses totaling 57 hours
-Graduation project: 3 credit hours

All therapy courses in the last three semesters are practical, not theoretical, meaning each lecture is a practical training session based on the theoretical knowledge of the respective therapy model.

The courses are as follows:

First Semester:

-Clinical Psychology: Foundations and Theories
Coverage of basic theories in clinical psychology.

-Clinical Neuropsychology: Study of the relationship between brain and behavior in a clinical context.

-Assessment and Diagnostic Tools: Training on using psychological assessment tools.

-Ethics of Clinical Practice: Discussion of ethical issues in psychotherapy.

-Research Methodology in Clinical Psychology: Fundamentals of scientific research and evaluating evidence.

Second Semester:

-Anxiety (Diagnosis and Treatment)

-Depression Treatment (Diagnosis and Treatment)

-Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Diagnosis and -Treatment)

-Phobia and Panic (Diagnosis and Treatment)

-Personality Disorders (Diagnosis and Treatment)

Third Semester:

-Substance Use Disorders (Diagnosis and Treatment)

-Behavioral Therapy and Behavior Analysis for Children

-Clinical Interviewing

-Psychological Assessment and Diagnostic Tools

-Clinical Research Methods

Fourth Semester:

-Dialectical Behavior Therapy

-Logotherapy

-Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Psychology

-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

-Graduation Project
