Dr. Dureed Rahmoun received an honorary doctorate from the University of High Ambition in recognition of his significant contributions to improving healthcare in Syria.

The University of High Ambition (UHA) honored Dr. Dureed Rahmoun by awarding him an Honorary Doctorate in Healthcare Management, in recognition of his outstanding efforts and achievements in developing the healthcare system and civil society services in Syria.
The honorary ceremony took place at the university’s office in Aleppo Governorate, with the remote participation of the University President, Professor Ali Al-Sayed Suleiman, the University Secretary-General, Dr. Abdulrazzaq Mustafa, along with several students from the Bachelor’s program in Psychology, the Master’s in Applied Professional Psychology, and the Master’s in Healthcare Management within the College of Humanities and the College of Health and Medical Sciences.
This honor was granted based on the recommendation of Dr. Abdullah Al-Qasim, Dean of the College of Medical and Health Sciences at UHA (U.S.), as part of the university’s policy to recognize and encourage distinguished scientific and professional competencies that contribute to the advancement of healthcare, medical, and community services.
Dr. Dureed Rahmoun holds a Master’s degree in Community Nursing and previously managed the Primary Healthcare Department at Idlib Health Directorate for five years. He also served as a World Health Organization (WHO) Coordinator in northwestern Syria for two years, in addition to his current role as a Director of a central department within the Syrian Ministry of Health. Moreover, he has held several academic and field positions, contributed to the establishment and operation of field hospitals and intensive care units, and participated in teaching several courses within the Bachelor of Public Health program at UHA.
He was awarded the honorary doctorate under Decree No. (2506) dated October 25, 2025, as an expression of the university’s and its academic staff’s appreciation for his valuable contributions to healthcare management, medical workforce development, and health education in the Syrian Arab Republic.
This recognition comes as part of the UHA American University’s mission to highlight achievements and honor efforts that contribute to community service and the promotion of health and humanitarian development.
