Judicial Training and Arbitration Unit

I. General Description:

The Judicial Training and Arbitration Unit is a specialized academic and training division within the College of Law. It aims to enhance the practical skills of law students, graduates, and legal enthusiasts through applied training in the fields of judiciary, arbitration, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

The Unit works to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice by offering specialized training programs and workshops supervised by judges, arbitrators, lawyers, and legal experts. This contributes to preparing legal cadres capable of working in courts, arbitration centers, and various legal institutions.

The Unit also seeks to promote the culture of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and to strengthen applied legal knowledge in line with modern developments in international judicial and commercial systems.


II. Objectives of the Judicial Training and Arbitration Unit:

  • Developing the applied skills of law students within the judicial field.
  • Preparing qualified legal cadres for professional careers in arbitration and dispute resolution.
  • Training students on litigation procedures and advocacy before the courts.
  • Promoting the culture of arbitration and mediation as alternative methods for dispute resolution.
  • Strengthening cooperation with judges, lawyers, arbitration centers, and legal institutions.
  • Organizing specialized scientific conferences and seminars in the fields of judiciary and arbitration.

 


III. Training Programs Offered by the Unit:

The Unit oversees a range of specialized professional programs, including:

 

1. Judicial Training Program

This program aims to familiarize trainees with judicial procedures within courts, covering:

  • Drafting and formulating legal claims and lawsuits.
  • Studying civil and criminal procedural laws.
  • Legal memorandum drafting skills.
  • Mechanisms for issuing judicial rulings.
  • Training on Moot Court (Mock Trials).

 

2. International Commercial Arbitration Program

This program aims to qualify trainees to serve as arbitrators or legal consultants in arbitration cases, covering:

  • Principles of International Commercial Arbitration.
  • Arbitration agreements and procedures.
  • Formation of arbitral tribunals.
  • Management of arbitration hearings.
  • Drafting and enforcement of arbitral awards.

 

3. Mediation and Dispute Resolution Program

This program focuses on developing skills for alternative dispute resolution (ADR), such as:

  • Legal mediation.
  • Legal negotiation.

  • Amicable settlement of disputes.
